Mumbai’s most acclaimed restaurant visits Stockholm Stadshotell
This summer, Indian restaurant Masque will take over Matsalen at Stockholm Stadshotell. Between June 24 and July 4, chef Varun Totlani and his team will visit the hotel for a two-week guest appearance with a specially composed tasting menu where modern Indian cuisine meets seasonal Nordic ingredients.
Since opening in 2016, Masque has established itself as one of the most influential restaurants on the global food scene. The restaurant, founded by Aditi and Aditya Dugar, has been named India’s best restaurant five years in a row and is currently ranked number 15 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026. Under the leadership of Varun Totlani, Masque has also taken a place on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
With its progressive way of interpreting Indian gastronomy, Masque has become an international benchmark for a new generation of fine dining.

Masque will be the first major international collaboration and marks the start of Matsalen as a dedicated stage for international guest performances and culinary collaborations.

During the guest performance, Masque will take over Matsalen for lunch Friday to Saturday and dinner Wednesday to Saturday. The menu follows the restaurant’s signature format with six servings for lunch and ten for dinner.

Courtyard

Summer at Stockholm Stadshotell
On June 1, we officially open our courtyard for the summer. The menu switches to summer barbecue, and the bar moves outdoors with seasonal signature drinks.
On select evenings, Babette will be baking pizza in the courtyard, French Open and Wimbledon matches will be shown on screen, and for Midsummer, we’ll raise the traditional maypole.

Hotellbarer har historiskt sett spelat en nyckelroll i cocktailkulturen. Inspirerade av ikoniska platser och med djupgående hantverkskunnande presenterar barchefen Andrés Basile både nya och klassiska drinkar i en modern tolkning. Ett utvalt urval av öl, vin och cider serveras också.

Matsalen

Matsalen ligger i vårt tidigare kapell – det mest omsorgsfullt bevarade rummet i huset. Med ett eget kök, välvda tak och restaurerade fresker står det skilt från resten av hotellet: mer intimt, mer speciellt, lämpat för saker som inte passar in på en snabb meny eller en stående reservation.
Rummet är värd för roterande gästresidens, gemensamma middagar och evenemang som utformats specifikt för detta utrymme. Varje evenemang pågår under en definierad säsong innan det ger vika för nästa. Vad som händer – och vem som står bakom det – förändras. Rummet gör det inte.
Matsalen finns även för privat uthyrning.
